The east was always known for the institutions that it built around spirituality.

Most great religions took root in the east.

But scientific quest pursued in the west advanced knowledge levels like never before.


In pursuit of new sciences and technology, pushing some old beliefs into darkness, a whole new materialistic world has grown, where each man and women is for himself and herself.

The norms that did bind society are breaking down, Institution of marriage is under stress just as men and women compete to outdo each other.

The old order is collapsing, the new has not been able to firmly create a healthy society.

Unfortunately, we in India have been unable to shake off our colonial past and mistakenly believe that we have to follow the West in their worst values. At the same time, we are not able to emulate them in maintaining clean public places and being more law-abiding citizens. Nothing is black and white in life and I think the West is not the complete monster it is made out to be.
